En el servicio de cirugía neo-natal del Instituto Materno Infantil de Bogotá, se efectuó una revisión de las historias clínicas correspondientes a 118 recién nacidos que presentaron el cuadro clínico de obstrucción intestinal, durante un período de 15 años.
Se hace un análisis de los antecedentes maternos durante el embarazo.
Se estudian cuidadosamente los síntomas y signos que conforman el cuadro clínico, de acuerdo con su iniciación, evolución y el tipo de lesión intestinal.
Se analizan las imágenes radiológicas observadas en relación con el nivel de la obstrucción del intestino.
Se efectúa una evaluación de los hallazgos quirúrgicos y patológicos de acuerdo con el tipo de malformaciones y los factores desencadenantes.
Se hace una exposición y la conducta quirúrgica de acuerdo con la lesión del tracto digestivo y de la evolución post-operatoria.
En la discusión se analizan minuciosamente los antecedentes, el cuadro clínico y los hallazgos quirúrgicos y patológicos. Finalmente se hacen consideraciones sobre la evolución del intestino, tanto en el período embriológico como en el fetal, con el fin de establecer una clasificación de la etiopatogenia de la obstrucción intestinal de origen prenatal...
